ABOUT THE UTILITY SEGMENT:



The utility segment of Tools & Tests is based in the scenic city of Chattanooga, TN. The utility segment supports three leading brands - Sherman Reilly, HD Electric Company and Greenlee. Together these brands provide industry-leading solutions to meet the needs of the electric utility market at every stage of the power supply process. Evolving with the utility industry, Sherman Reilly is a leader in manufacturing equipment and tools for overhead and underground power line installation and maintenance. HD Electric company continues to bring innovation to the forefront in the areas of controlling, testing and measuring electric power to drive safety and efficiently. Greenlee continues to be a leader in the professional tool industry, bringing to market ergonomic battery-powered tools, low-pressure hydraulic tools and more to the electric utility market.



PRIMARY FUNCTION:



The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for the increased sales performance and profitability of Sherman Reilly, HD Electric and Greenlee Utility products to new and established distributor partners, Utility Contractors and Electric Utilities within a specific geographic region. Territory Managers establishes sales strategies and achieves sales goals relative to those accounts through direct contact and product demonstration. This job requires broad knowledge of the company's products, services, policies relative to customers and knowledge of distributor and contractor business model.



ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:



This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager and manages Utility business within a defined area. This position interfaces with all levels of the organization including, but not limited to Sales Application Engineers, Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, Engineering and Marketing.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



99. Develops and implements a strategic sales plan to increase sales and profits for Sherman Reilly, HDE and Greenlee Utility products to established and new customers.

99. Develops a plan to identify and convert competitive product and works the plan to closure.

99. Leverages sales programs, promotions and market development funds for the best value of the company and distributors.

99. Initiates category management for benefit of Sherman Reilly and the distributor partner. Roles include: GMROI analysis, turns analysis, self-administered VMI. Maintains awareness of distributor inventories; works to insure adequate levels.

99. Manages profitability of the account from a distributor's perspective while maximizing profitability for Sherman Reilly Utility Division. Margin analysis and pricing to be evaluated as well.

99. Merchandises counter displays to ensure Utility products are prominently displayed, organized and shelf space is maximized and optimized.

99. Conducts training sessions with distributor representatives and end users to educate them in proper use and effective sales techniques of Sherman Reilly and related utility tools.

99. Provides input to Product Managers regarding product upgrades or obsolescence.

99. Maintains awareness of competitors and product lines.

99. Represents the company at trade shows, distributor meetings, etc.

99. Introduces, promotes and gains placement of new products.

99. Maintains regular sales call frequency on major end-users in assigned territory as required to increase sales.

99. Maintains company vehicle and demo tools in neat and orderly fashion.



Completes and submits key account and other key initiative plans.



**Qualifications**



KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:



+ Bachelor's degree in business or related field

+ 4 years of industry or sales experience with demonstrated achievements in selling Utility products through distribution and to end-users is desired

+ Strong presentation skills

+ Depending on location, travel will be anywhere between 10% - 30%.

+ Knowledge of the Utility distribution function strongly desired

+ Microsoft office suite knowledge required

+ Willingness to travel by air

+ Requires occasional lifting of products weighing up to 50 lbs.

+ Performs all duties within the Textron Business Conduct Guidelines
