Technical Solution Architect- Omaha, NE

The Senior Health System Team is excited to offer an opportunity for a Technical Solution Architect. In our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, you'll be a valuable member and technical lead of an Agile team on the Senior Health Agile Release Train (ART) where you can openly collaborate with your Agile team as well as with the other teams on the train. The Senior Health ART supports the Senior Health customer segment, which focuses on Medicare Supplemental, Dental, and Vision products along with Medicare Advantage products. The System Team is a specialized team on the ART that assists in building and using the Agile development environment including Continuous Integration, test automation and Continuous Deployment. The System Team also supports the integration of assets from Agile teams.




Essential Job Functions:


Solution Lead Functions:



+ Translates the business vision into a technical implementation; provides technical direction to the team


+ Helps the team to make tradeoffs between functional requirements, non-functional requirements, and constraints.


+ Leads participatory decision making with the team to develop and evolve a design and architecture


+ Ensures quality reviews, and ensures adherence of IS and Company standards


+ Communicates with other teams on integration solutions



System Team Functions



+ Works to resolve technical impediments.


+ Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and explore solution alternatives.


+ Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others.


+ Work with portfolio stakeholders, notably the Enterprise Architect, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics.


+ Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt events.


+ Provide oversight and foster Built-in Quality.


+ Identify and help implement improved development practices for feature teams across multiple platforms.



Technical Functions



+ Proposes changes in process, policy and standards as they relate to the architecture and design principles.


+ Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems.


+ Viewed as a technical expert and critical resource cross multiple disciplines.


+ Develops and pilots new architectures to support application requirements leveraging reusable components.


+ Reviews new applications for conformance to existing architectures. Understands and articulates technology strategies and objectives.


+ Development experience in multiple languages including Java, JavaScript, RESTful web services, and mainframe technologies.


+ Familiarity with testing automation frameworks for multiple software applications and business processes.


+ Experience with testing technologies such as Spock, Geb, Selenium, Junit, Webdriver, Katalon, ALM, QTP.


+ Experience with automated testing across integrated mainframe and distributed systems is a plus.


+ Experience with continuous integration, automated builds, and automated build verification testing.


+ Responsible for complying with all Company Information Services policies and standards.


+ Responsible for ensuring appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect Company data from intentional or accidental misuse.

+ This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.


+ This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.





Minimum Qualifications:



+ Ability to articulate and advocate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.


+ Aptitude to formulate and articulate technical vision in order to anticipate and prepare for emerging systems and technology needs with the ability to understand multiple systems or technologies and how they interact.


+ Astuteness in identification and implementation of continuous process improvements.


+ Ability to take accountability and make sound architectural and strategic decisions.


+ Sound teamwork skills to build positive relationships and maintain constructive working relationships, using win-win approaches to resolve conflict.


+ Effective ability to deal with ambiguity, unexpected events, and changing business requirements; ability to juggle multiple activities, projects, and initiatives simultaneously; and ability to handle technical, political, and organizational fluctuations.


+ Ability to take initiative with work activities and to learn/apply new skills.


+ Experience with Test Driven Development.


+ Bachelor degree in related field of study (i.e. Computer Science/Computer Engineering) or relevant experience.


+ Demonstrated understanding of Web-based technology architecture and data structures, including continuous integration, processes and platform deployments, DevOps and API integration.


+ Familiarity with cloud based technologies.


+ Experience with integration across multiple platforms.


+ Experience working in Agile methodologies.
