**JOB SUMMARY**





Responsible for all aspects of
billing, follow up and collection activity.







**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** _include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned._






+ Responsible for all aspects offollow up and collections, including making telephone calls, accessing payerwebsites. Identify issues or trendingand provide suggestions for resolution.Accurately and thoroughly documents the pertinent collection activityperformed. Review the accountinformation and necessary system applications to determine the next appropriatework activity. Verify claimsadjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications. Initiate telephone or letter contact topatients to obtain additional information as needed. Perform appropriate billing functions,including manual re-bills as well as electronic submission to payers. Edit claims to meet and satisfy billingcompliance guidelines for electronic submission. Manage and maintain desk inventory, completereports, and resolve high priority and aged inventory.

+ Participate and attend meetings,training seminars and in-services to develop job knowledge. Participate in themonthly, quarterly and annual performance evaluation process with theirSupervisor. Respond timely to emails andtelephone messages as appropriate.Communicate issues to management, including payer, system or escalatedaccount issues.

+ Good written and verbalcommunication skills

+ Intermediate technical skillsincluding PC and MS Outlook

+ Intermediate knowledge of UB-04 andExplanation of Benefits (EOB) interpretation

+ Intermediate knowledge of CPT andICD-9 codes

+ Intermediate knowledge of insurancecollections and insurance terminology





**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**

+ High school diploma or equivalenteducation

+ 0-4 years of experience inMedical/Hospital Insurance related collections
