This posting is reflective of the Business Systems Consultant essential functions and qualifications. The SR Business Systems Consultant level has variable essentials functions and qualifications. Competency and skill set will determine level of placement within the posted job family.


This position in the Information Services (IS) Enterprise Architecture Division provides leadership for development and execution of IS Financial Management processes. The position requires collaboration with IS Management, Enterprise Architects, Finance and business partners and a solid understanding of Enterprise IT and fundamentals of financial processes. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels of management. The position also requires the ability to leverage Financial Systems and supporting tools for data analysis and visualization via trends, graphs, dashboards, etc.




Essential Job Functions:



+ Lead the IS Budget Variance and Forecast Processes partnering with IS Leadership, Finance and others as needed to enable data for decision making and predictability.


+ Responsible for completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual IS Financial Management processes for budget, analysis, forecast and others that may be identified.


+ Perform Financial Analysis of IT expenses and trends, partnering with Enterprise Architecture and others for tactical and strategic alignment.


+ Understand Financial processes such as budget, capitalization and expense allocation as applied to Information Services and business segments.


+ Understand Accounting processes related to budget/actuals/forecast from multiple views. For example, looking at the capital view of dollars, expense view, out-of-pocket view, allocated view of dollars.


+ Use Forecasting and forecast models, partnering with Finance, to incorporate past actuals and key forecast drivers to predict trends and actuals.


+ Coordinate with Finance and IS Team members to populate and update data in the Planning, Budget and Forecast System and other supporting tools that may be utilized.


+ Develop presentations using visuals, graphs, trends, etc for presentation and collaboration.


+ Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications with IS, Finance and Business leaders.


+ Demonstrate a Continuous Learning and Improvement mindset and approach to applying IS Financial Management processes.


+ Implement process and system controls and procedures as needed for process and data integrity.


+ This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.


+ This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.





Minimum Qualifications:



+ At least 3 years prior experience with financial processes and analysis in an IT environment.


+ Broad experience in an IT environment, for example application development and infrastructure/operations and major expense categories such as hardware, software, services, consulting and labor.


+ Degree preferred in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.


+ Strong knowledge of MS Excel and/or other data/dashboarding tools.


+ Working knowledge of the Planning Budget and Forecast system is a plus.


+ Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to meet deadlines.


+ Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills.


+ Excellent quantitative, statistical, and data analysis and interpretative skills.


+ Ability to recognize financial implications of business and technology and communicate with others to enable decisions and solutions.


+ Ability to adapt quickly to new business and technology.


+ Knowledge and experience demonstrating Agile/Lean Methodologies and continuous improvement.


+ Strong strategic, tactical and analytical skills with the ability to quickly recognize problems and resolve them.
