### Summary
This position is located in Midwest Regional Office, in the Cultural Resources Division.

### Responsibilities
Provides accurate and reliable information on the administrative functions of the regional office. Attends meetings and serves on work teams/groups. Gives briefings on administrative topics; schedules events/meetings as necessary. Collects data for the unit's operating budget, consolidates material into an annual unit budget; sets up controls to monitor expenses during the year; and recommends budget. Applies appropriate standards and procedures in all areas of financial management. Serves as technical resource to unit personnel on travel policies and regulations. Prepares travel authorizations and vouchers using automated systems and software. Acquisition and Property Management: Serves as advisor to the unit on procedures for the procurement of goods and services. Purchase supplies, equipment, and services for the unit utilizing a purchase card, or a blanket purchase agreement under micro-purchase authorities. Contacts suppliers and merchants to obtain information and pricing, and prepares purchase requests and documents for the Contracting Office. Provides human resources information and assistance to the unit; assists with the preparation of position descriptions and organization charts, and prepares Requests for Personnel Action. Submits these documents to the Servicing Human Resources Office (SHRO) for the unit, and coordinates with that office on the completion of the requested action. Serves as the primary timekeeper for the unit. Responds to and resolves issues involving Quicktime Administration. Advises supervisors and employees concerning questions about pay, hours of duty and leave.
Office Services and/or Information Management: Serves as the primary administrative point of contact for the unit. Responsible for the administrative oversight of various administrative processes, which may include processing financial, procurement, property, human resources, and other administrative forms or documents for the unit. Establishes and maintains office files (electronic or manual), including confidential and sensitive files, project files, administrative material and regulations, reports, forms, etc. Types and composes correspondence, memoranda, reports, work schedules, etc., from drafts or notes using word processing software and computer equipment. Distributes mail.

Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
* You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
* If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
* You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 4 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
* You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
### Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
**EXPERIENCE:** At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: operating a variety of computerized information systems, making purchases in accordance with office policies, maintaining property inventories and records, files maintenance, budget tracking, and preparing a variety of forms and reports. In addition, your experience must have involved the performance of various office duties, including typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms. You must include hours per week worked.

**Selective Factor**: Type 40 words per minute typing speed (must indicate in your resume your typing speed).
**Volunteer Experience:** Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
**You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".**
